Slow transit, a bit constipated and noisy stomach!

For years now, I have suffered from a noisy stomach/bowels-lots of moving gas and has caused a fair amount of embarrassment-especially in quiet places Blush. I’ve been to the GP twice-one smirked (which was horrible) and ten years later, when I’d plucked up the courage to go again-the other gave my Fybogel which didn’t seem to do much.

My diet is good but I do seem to err on the side of being a bit constipated (hardish pellets) and wonder if this causes the wind? I think I have slow transit as well and often feel like I’ve not properly ‘been’.

Is there anything I can do without a third hideous trip back to the GP?

@fedup21 if you are not able to clear up your bowels completely when you poop, it cause a lot of gas and the gas can make gurgling sound. This gas can cause further constipation as things are not moving smoothly in your system. There are many reasons why you are not able to evacuate completely - not enough water, exercise, improper diet, stress, medication or simply spending too little time on the toilet. I would suggest to take a gentle laxative like milk of magnesia or movicol for a few days and drinking 6-8 glasses of water and see what happens. Fybogel is good but can also make constipation worse if you don't drink enough water.
Do you know what started these episodes in the first place? Is you have terrible gas , try drinking hot/ warm water.
