Bloating

I'm really suffering with bloating. Today I look 6 months pregnant. I don't know what's causing it and it's really beginning to get me down.

I do suffer with IBS at times so it could be that. At the moment I'm on antibiotics and bloating is a side effect so I know that's not helping.

I do need to lose half a stone if possible, but I just wondered if anyone has any remedies that work?

Have you tried eating fermented food? There’s a programme on BBC one tonight at 8pm called ‘Easy ways to live well’ that I’m going to watch which is presented by Steph who used to be on the breakfast show. She had a lot of bloating and had tests and discovered she had very bad gut health and not enough variety of good bacteria so started eating fermented foods like kefir and it sorted her out apparently.

If it's constant abdominal bloating you really do need to see your GP. Not to worry you, as I know there are lots of possible causes, but it can be a sign of ovarian cancer. Please don't ignore it.

Ooh I'll watch that programme tonight. Sounds good. I haven't tried eating fermented food though so it's something I'll look into.

It's not constant bloating but I'll mention it to my gp when I next go.
