Tonsilitis - day 4 - when will this get better?

Hi there. My LO had tonsilitis about 10 days ago and I’m currently on day 4 and temperature is back to normal, no longer shivery, no longer achy. But my throat is still killer, feels blocked and tonsils still have big white patches. Swallowing is so sore and I’m taking painkillers regularly. Anyone let things run their course and how long did it take? Basically sure it’s viral if my LO had it. Thanks!

Up to two weeks IME. Tyrozet lozenges work wonders though

I thought pus on tonsils meant antibiotics required. It can be spread by coughing and saliva, toothbrushes etc.

Try gargling with salt water in the meantime.
