DS not passing urine - how long is too long?

DS2 is 2.5yrs old and has a swollen willy (poor chap). Got some antibiotics from GP who said if he stops weeing to go back and see her. Well he hasn't done a wee for 14 hours now. He keeps crying and saying wee-wee but nappy is dry. I have him on full dose of painkillers and he's had milk and juice this morning but still nothing. I am going to try putting him in the bath to see if that helps him go. TIA

keep his nappy/pants off as cold air can make them pee (or a warm bath)
poor little man - sounds awful for him
I would call your GP again - i wouldn't leave things too long with a young child

definitely the warm bath

14hrs!! Definetly trip tp dr or a+e as he made need a catheter.

The doctor is going to phone me by 9.30am. Although no wee the discharge is hideous (sorry TMI). Nappy off and mop and bucket at the ready. Who'd have thought I'd be looking forward to mopping up wee!!

Finally spoke to GP just now (after chasing up). We are to go to A&E at 2pm ish if he still hasn't been by then. Fingers crossed.
