I just wondered if it is possible and if so how? What did you do, how long did it take. Im hoping someone will tell me of a miracle cream that really works (its ok to dream). Im 35 and have had it for years but am giving myself a bit of an MOT at the moment and want to improve my legs.

exercise is probably one of your best bets but then there is always massage, with or without aromatherapy oils, althought grapefruit is meant to do very well.

massage helps to break down the fatty deposits and tone the muscles.

Water and lots of it - thats the only thing that shifted mine along with exercise.

Sorry no miracle cream and I've tried them all or so my DH thinks anyway

pepsi · 01/10/2004 08:33

So you say you managed to shift yours carwillin......how long did it take and what sort of exercise are we talking. Ive been going on the exercise bike for 30 mins 3 times a week followed by body brushing. What sort of amounts of water are we talking?

use shower head on most powerful setting and use it on legs etc then message bosy lotion (any make ) use scissor tehnique also reduce processed foods and
drink caffinated coffee caffeine helps supposedly

pepsi · 01/10/2004 08:59

cant do the shower thing as mine comes out of the wall. I always thought caffeine was bad for cellulite. Whats the scissor technique? People dont believe me when I say Ive got loads of cellulite. Im 5'9 and weight nine and three quarter stone, people do assume that us skinnys dont have cellulite but I can definately say we do. I think it was worse when I was on the pill and at work sitting at a desk all day. Ive stopped smoking and dont drink much, have cut out sugar in my tea and am trying to do the 5 a day thing. I think Im actually having a mid-life crisis or something. Watching Trinny and Sussanah this week and Fat Nation have made me think.

try using your thumb and index finger adn push down adn then up your legs - you can also try slapping your legs to stimulate the blood supply tehn massage

TurnAgainCat · 01/10/2004 10:40

pepsi, don't hate me for this, but I have a similar build to you, but have never had any cellulite. I think this is because I am a vegetarian with an extremely wholefood, homecooked type of diet, never smoked, drink tea not coffee, drink little alcohol, and do quite a lot of sweaty exercise (I mean that toxins are supposed to be eliminated by sweating). Don't have a crisis about something like cellulite. I am wearing woolly tights anyway so who's to know or care about cellulite, apart from friends/ family who love me for other reasons?

krocket · 01/10/2004 10:52

I think a lot of it is genetic sadly

pepsi · 01/10/2004 12:19

Well done to you Turnagaincat, you are lucky, I think have been dealt the bad hand where thighs are concerned. It could well be genetic. Ive always been active and dont eat processed food, takeaways and stuff, but I did smoke loads in my teens, so who knows. I just want to sort myself our before I reach 40 and be able to feel good about myself.
