Does any body know of any alternative treatments i can try for treatment of abscesses.

A little bit of history, i have had over 60 differnt abscess since falling pg with DS, now 4.10. I have been to immunology and to a dermatologist, but to no avail. They are really painful and quite frankly farking me right of now I get them all the time, the consultant said the only way of ridding them forever is to operate on each site and leave open wounds to heal, bear in mind i have over 60 sites and had one operatted three times and the last time it took 8 months to heal, .

I have tried long term nasty antibiotics but they dont really help as i have had so many of them. I keep returning to GP who i have to say is as much use as a chocolate teapot!, and now he is trying to tell me it all due to my lifestyle! there is nothing farking wrong with my life, i eat well and excercise and also sleep alot!!!! Any suggestions appreciated i am getting desperate here.

MrsB, thanks for those links, sounds familiar and was mentioned by dermatologist a while back but was dimissed later on, and never mentioned since . I don't know what to do, I currently have one that has not stopped weeping since sunday, it is just a constant flow. Surely it cant be right that i just have to put up with this, can it?

Insist that your gp refer you urgently to a dermatologist. And just keep making appointments with your gp until he/she does. From what I have read there are some treatments at least for the symptoms and the earlier you treat it, the better. Are you on the pill? It may help to go on the pill and get some hormones into you. Or if you are on the pill, stop taking it to get hormones out of you. Also from what I have read, if you are overweight, it's very helpful to lose weight. Also read that nsaids can help too with the inflammation and pain.

Have alreay been to dermatologist, and have made so many appointments with GP its untrue, the receptionists don't even ask my name anymore they just know the voice! Am slighty over weight but can not shift it no matter what i do. I have tried the pill and now am resting from permenant pill tsking, have been of it a year makes no difference. Thanks for advice it is appreciated.

You poor thing. It sounds awful. If you do internet searches, there seems to be some amount of information available. I noticed that they are doing clinical trials in the usa with lasers for the condition. Does sunshine help you at all? Here is a link to a very helpful US medical site.

Here is a link to a support group foundation. They, at least might have information first about treatments and cures.
