Crushing back pain (upper/central)

Studentnursesos12e · 13/01/2020 16:19

I’ve never experienced anything like this. I have agonising upper/central crushing back pain. I’ve taken cocodamol, ibuprofen and gaviscon and have a heat patch on and it’s still so sore.

Has anyone ever experienced anything like this? It’s the joint worst pain I’ve ever experienced. I have work 7pm-2am (in a hospital) and will probably go to the GP tomorrow.

Standing up and sitting down have no effect.

I’m 20 and reasonably healthy.

Any one experienced this or got any advice. Thanks x

I agree. A&E. Hopefully you are not at work.

Have you had any tightness in your chest in the past few weeks?

anotherday4 · 13/01/2020 22:22

Are you ok op?

TheoriginalLEM · 13/01/2020 22:23

Sounds like gallstones, although you're quite young.

Go to hospital

I've had the same pain in my lower left back more towards the side for months, it's weird

Goodnightjude1 · 13/01/2020 22:30

I had that and was diagnosed with gallstones. Hope you’re ok OP 💐

Hi. Thanks. Sorry for the lack of reply. I am at work but this has worked in my favour as it’s the location of the OOH GP. I’ve had blood tests and am to go to my own Gp tomorrow.

It could be gallstones, I’ve had a similar although not as bad pain in my lower left side previously. The dr I saw wants to rule out pericarditis/cardiac, so I’m getting an ECG shortly.
