Impacted Canine Tooth Surgery Experiences

Hi all

My DD has gone through the twin block brace experience for a 9mm overbite. She has now had her baby canines removed and a fixed brace put on to make space for the adult ones to come down. We have now been told one is impacted and she will require surgery to bring it down.

Has anyone else been through this with their DD/DS and what was the experience like?

Thanks

I had this as a teen. Both canines. Was a simple op, in and out the same day, not a big deal. A bit painful the next day. I found being fitted with braces far more traumatic!

Thanks for your response and reassurance.

DD has had a twin block appliance brace to correct her jaw and currently has train tracks. The twin block was quite something to get used to but the fixed brace was only sore for a day or two after.

Hopefully will be the same for the op, I think she's more worried about the GA but I thought the cuts in the gum sounded painful.
