I've found a lump...

Hi, I've recently found a small lump on my testicle. I've literally just this second made an appointment with my GP to have it checked out (better to be safe than sorry!).

However, my question is, should I tell my wife straight away? It could (and statistically will - fingers crossed!) be that it turns out to be nothing serious. If that's the case, then I have worried my wife for no reason. However if the prognosis is bad and then I tell her, it'll come as more of a shock and probably upset her that I didn't tell her from the beginning.

What would you want your husband/partner to do?

I found a lump in my breast last month and told my husband once I'd been to the doctors and got referred.

I’d want to know as soon as my husband found the lump.
I’d want to be able to support him at every step as he supported with me when I received my cancer pathway journey.
All the best.

I got called for a follow up appointment after my mamogram and attended on Monday. I had an ultrasonic & biopsys taken & booked back in for a follow up appointment next Monday. I know in alot of cases the lumps are cysts, especially at my age (50). However I can't stop thinking about the expression on the Drs face as she was carrying out the ultrasound. She kept going over the same spot & frowning.
I wasn't too bothered & had the attitude of what will be will be, but it's almost like the potential enormity of it has hit ne today.
I'm probably over reacting, but gone into what if panic mode. I'm a single parent & can't afford to be ill .
