Anyone have any experience of this?

No alcohol abuse history or any alcohol in system at time of death

No diabetes history - could this have been undetected?

Starvation - could be possible, but how starving do you have to be? Suspect he had eaten in days before his death but no idea how much he had eaten?

Is there something else? Something that we don't know about. We really need some answers and not sure where to ask for them

Diabetes can be undetected and it isn't uncommon for someone to present with diabetic ketoacidosis (usually with symptoms of a virus, diarrhoea, vomiting, etc.,) as their first sign of diabetes.

I'm sorry that he couldn't be made well.
