Terrible flatulence

NotNowNoreen · 06/01/2020 09:06

Almost every time I eat lately I get terrible flatulence (not always smelly, but still). It's awful and I have no idea what is causing it. No other symptoms as far as I am aware. Any ideas what could be causing it? Or what I can do?

Eat more fibre.

Buscopan or Colpermin can help. Have you got ibs as sounds similar symptoms. I swear by Colpermin.

I found meat made mine worse. As does too much dairy. Cut both right down and instead of doing it all day long, it’s more a morning and evening things and within the realms of normal.

You can get charcoal tablets. Onion & beans are meant to make it worse.

You need to avoid the obvious and notorious food items causing it, like beans, cauliflowers, broccoli, but also sweet potatoes, potatoes, soya, curries, too much roughage, and anything you find 'windy'. As others have said charcoal tablets, a very effective old fashioned remedy.

Try increasing water and fibre and eating a more balanced diet (ie take in most of your carbs through wholegrains or vegetables rather than refined or sugars) and see how that works
