Broken foot doctors saying I may need surgery

Hi 3 weeks ago hurt my foot I was in a lot of pain but hate hospitals and have a high pain threshold so didn’t go to hospital until after the weekend on day 4. Was x rayed told it was torn ligaments by doctor A . 1 week later I received a call of doctor B saying they think my foot has a fracture can I go up for ct scan. I went had the ct scan and doctor A said there was no breaks and even refused to give me pain relief despite me saying I was in significant pain. Yesterday doctor B phoned me up saying he had checked ct scan and there is a bone in my foot which has a fracture and that he thinks it may have moved, he got me a appointment with fracture clinic and said I may need surgery as walking on it may have damaged it, I told him about pain relief and he advised I go up A and E.

As I said I don’t like hospitals so went to out of hours yesterday where I was given co dyhdramol and naproxen.

What I want to know is what sort of surgery will I need and what sort of recovery time am I looking at please?

It's almost impossible to say based on such little information (sorry). It could be anything from keyhole surgery upwards. Can you remember any further details?

No that’s all I’ve been told I’m afraid, was told I’d get more information at fracture clinic on Monday just worrying about recovery time as it will be hard to get someone to look after DC thanks for your reply however.
