Eleven stitches from my hand... quite deepish, have been in for two weeks.

V funny about anyone going near it after vile operation, someone give me a good slap or tell me it won't hurt please...

You'll be fine
Shouldn't hurt

Is it 11 individual stitches or one long suture with a knot at both ends?
If you think of the stitches like getting your hand 'pierced', then by this time it will have started to heal a bit and there will be a channel of healed skin through which the stitch is running.
Yes it will be sore and your hand is by nature a sensitive area, but if you have some pain relief about an hour before hand e.g. paracetamol if you're OK to take it, then that should help.

Thanks guys (whimpers).

Eleven individual sutures.

Thanks for paracetamol tip, my friend who's a nurse has just recommended the same!

I think I'm feeling better now, after giving birth twice and enduring the op under local (nerve re-stitch) I'm sure I'll be OK, just had enough of the dicomfort and want it to end.

I know I'm being a total wuss BTW .

How did it go??
Did you get a sticker/lolly for being brave ??

LadyMacbeth · 28/08/2007 14:26

It was fine.

Bit worse than having my eyebrows plucked, feel a bit of a prat.

Thanks for asking though!
