Panicking

I have health anxiety so my approach to managing any physical symptoms is not the best! I have noticed mucus on my poo a number of times and I'm scared. I try hard not to make a doctors appointment for every little thing. I don't have any abdominal pain. I'm 48. Just looking for a bit of reassurance I think

Hi there I used to also have HA so I know exactly where you’re coming from. I’m 44 and I’m proud to say that today was the first timeI went to the GP in 5 years (other than normal routine checks). Although I’m going through a bit of a relapse in terms of HA but that’s another story.

I’ve had mucus in my stool before, went to the doc in a panic and he wasn’t at all phased. I had no other symptoms he told me to keep an eye on it and it went away of it’s own accord.

No shame at all in having it checked but it probably won’t be anything bad. All the best, I hope this helps a bit.
