Swollen red gum around one front tooth

For a couple of months now I’ve had a red swollen gum between two of my bottom front teeth. I saw the dentist in autumn and she said it was likely from over brushing and to be more careful but to keep flossing. I have done this but it’s still there. It doesn’t hurt and I wouldn’t even notice it unless I looked in the mirror.
Anyone got any ideas what I can use to try and get it to go away?
I have got an appointment coming up over the next couple of months at some point so obviously will check then.

Have you had a scale and polish recently?

Its unlikely to be from overbrushing, Id have thought more likely from some localised inflammation caused by some calculus below the gum

The other option is something in your bite traumatizing it, or a ledge on a filling.

Does it bleed? Did the dentist demonstrated how to floss and brush atraumatically?

Is it definitely new, not just part of your anatomy.
