got biten on my leg friday,im assuming its a horse fly as i always react badly when bitem by one,leg swells and goes very hot around the bite area.
so this was friday, and yesterday afternoon i started feeling very sick, felt like my stomach was protesting against something! was very up and down and resulted in me vomiting last night, felt ok after that and went to sleep but still feel a bit dodgy today.
do you think it could be a reaction to the bite? can think of anything that ive eaten that could cause it.
sorry if tmi !

oh i really don't know. If it was me I would take some paracetomol and lie down but I can see why you are woried. I did a quick web search and could find no reference to vomitting with horse fly bites so am tempted to say they are sepeate things - could this be possible?

smeeinit · 27/08/2007 15:16

oh thanks for that, very kind of you to look it up for me.
i think they must be seperate things, had a sausage roll for lunch yesterday, maybe its that!

My horse has a horse fly bite on his willy....and its come up the size of a tennis ball!

Poor thing is quite distressed about it, of to the vets for him.

We covered it in calomine lotion and purple spray to help... but I wouldn't recommend the same for you.

Going to hijack this thread, have no idea about your bite smeenit..
Eve, my pet rat has the start of bumble foot and on the net it saying purple spray may cure it. What IS it and where could I get it?
Sorry for hijack

Hi,

purple spray is an antibotic/antiseptic spray for horses...and its purple.

Uselful for all sorts of cuts, grazes, small wounds etc.

I get mine in Scats, countryside store. Not sure if pet shops sell it, but any equestrian shop will have it.
