Breast pain

Hi all. I've had pain in my left breast for almost a year. It's always the same place (near armpit). I went to my GP who did a breast exam and found no lump but referred me for a scan because the pain is in one spot. I went for the scan and nothing was found. There was no obvious reason for the pain. This was months ago now and I'm still having the pain. What can I do? Go back to GP or is it a waste of time when I've already had a scan?

Do you drink a lot of caffeine? I had some unexplained left breast pain several years ago, and was advised by GP to cut out caffeine. The problem disappeared almost immediately. No idea what the link is but it worked! I would perhaps still see your GP too.

Could it be your bras? I've had pain caused by them in the past.

I don't really drink caffeine. 2 cups of coffee a day at most!

I did wonder if it was bras causing it. I've tried a couple of different ones and haven't noticed any real difference.

pulled muscles?
Do you do any particular physical activity with the arm or shoulder or hand on that side?
Do you have fatigue elsewhere?

I hold my toddler that side so that could be a possibility. No fatigue or other symptoms.

I had exactly the same, left breast too although ultrasound did show a fibroadenoma but was told that wouldn't be causing the pain.

The pain is definitely worse for me last two weeks of my cycle so I assume it's hormonal but is there to some degree all the time which is a bit worrying.

Have you been properly measured for a bra? Not by M&S. Independent shops are usually pretty good. I experienced breast pain earlier this year for several months, localised to my left breast, near my armpit. Was scanned at the hospital but nothing unusual found. I thought my bras were fine and dismissed this as the cause. After some searching online I saw lots of recommendations of Boob or Bust so tried their measuring method. I was wearing the wrong back size and a cup size that was 3 sizes too small 🙈 Their sizing didn't come out perfectly but I ordered a couple of sizes either side to try and found a perfect fit. My breast pain disappeared within a week and hasn't reappeared since.
