Pneumonia cough

My dp, late 60s had Pleurisy and Pneumonia three weeks ago. I know it still early and he's getting better. He's had all his antibiotics but he is coughing so much. And very very sleepy. But the cough is worrying me. Is it normal?

Has he got a temp ?
How is his respiratory rate and is his breathing laboured ? Also could he get down to a walk in clinic to see a doc? GP surgeries will still be open so it's worth ringing his GP now.

Has he had a follow up to check the pneumonia has gone?

I ended up needing 3 different antibiotics over 4 weeks before mine went. Wasn't overly well for a good while after either.

We're in France but he did get taken to hospital and had a chest X-ray which was ok. He has to go back in a couple of weeks for another X-ray. I just want reassuring that the persistent cough and sleepiness is ok.

Thank you for replies.

Not sure sleepiness is ok as can be a sign of lower oxygen saturation's . Have you got a doctor you can call?

Please don't rely on MN for medical advice (with the best will in the world). Get some RL advice.
