There isn't much you can do with a vomiting 3yo is there?

Poor love brought up her lunch, then what little was left in her stomach, then water and just now water again, it wasn't even warm as she'd only just drunk it.

Apart from Dioralyte maybe tomorrow, there isn't anything else I can do is there? She's 3.5yo.

No temp, seems a bit fragile because she doesn't like being sick but apart from that no other symptoms.

TIA.

Apparently you can use flat cola if they can keep it down.

Hope she feels better soon

marthamoo · 24/08/2007 16:53

No, there isn't - poor little sausage. It's horrible when they can't even keep water down.

LadyVictoriaOfCake · 24/08/2007 16:55

not really.

i didnt have any cola the other day so mine had 7up.

WideWebWitch · 24/08/2007 16:56

Thanks. She's so rarely ill, I really feel for her. She's naked under a blanket and looks all shocked and white faced.

Let her lead the way is the best thing to do ime. If she says she feels hungry let her eat, if not leave it.Try and get her to sleep?

WideWebWitch · 24/08/2007 16:59

She's just gone to sleep.

Wish her better soon, www!

WideWebWitch · 24/08/2007 17:20

Thanks Dino and SM.

I am so soppy about her, I hate her being ill. We're invited out tonight, taking her with us, to a friend who has a child, we were going to stay the night but won't now, are we mad to be thinking about going? (I'm going to drive and not drink)

Personally I wouldn't go, it might go all horribly wrong with her being ill there - no fun for anyone and if its one of those bugs that go round school its horribly contagious and no-one would thankyou. Poor mite - I hope she feels better soon.

i will always giv emy kids a tea made from fennel seeds. if they dont drink it, i will add some sugar to sweeten it. but it really helps calma tummy down. always works wonders on my kdis me, my parents etc.

Polgara2 · 24/08/2007 18:05

Try making up some ice cubes with some juice in (very weak though) and let her suck on them - mine can usually manage this when they're poorly. She should keep them or the flat lemonade type of thing down much better than just plain water.
I really wouldn't go to friends though, she won't feel like going anywhere and you don't want to pass anything on to them or their child.

WideWebWitch · 25/08/2007 08:24

We didn't go, she puked again a few times last night, bringing up juice and water. She is insisting she's better this morning and has just eaten dry Shreddies. Hmm, we'll see whether they stay down. She got quite good at making sure it went in the bin though!
