Can you tell me anything about MS? please?

SIL has it, is very tight lipped about it and doesn't want to discuss the ins and outs with rest of family (fair enough)

All I know is she has periods where she can't walk and is injected weekly.

MIL is a scare-monger by trade and has told DH that it will be fatal and that she's never seen an old person with MS (ffs)

Does anybody have any experience of MS and can offer advice?

TIA

No personal experience, but I believe that it can either be progressive or sporadic.

Have you tried looking at MS Society

My Mum has recently been diagnosed with MS. To be honest we still don't know the ins and outs of it but the jist is that it is nerve based. It happens when you get damage on the nerves. In my mum's case it happened in her eye first, basically if you imagine her optic nerve was a wire, a patch of the plastic insulation has stripped itself away and is just bare wire. Just found this pretty clear explanation.
