Now I know this is silly but ... reassurance please!! My poor friend with Aids is quite well and well controlled with drugs, but it still made me uneasy to see DS stick his fingers in his mouth and then obviously back into his own mouth...

You're right it is silly, you can't catch AIDS via saliva.

Nothing to worry about there am sure your friend wouldn't let him do this if they had any concerns.

I know, I know... have happily been friends for years with no concerns, but being a mother brings out the paranoid in you...

it takes alot of fluid to pass aids that way so dont be to concerned but if to worried just talk to hv to set your mind at rest
