propranolol question

I take propranolol tablets ,(40mg) prescribed by the doctor for anxiety. Last night I was attending an event I was very anxious about so I took one but didn't feel it was working so on the way there i took another. A couple of hours later during the event I fainted out of the blue. There was a big fuss & the organisers wanted to call an ambulance but I refused. Still feeling awful today. Any ideas if this could be linked to the propranolol or not?

I'm not sure .
I take 80 mg twice a day for hypertension and I've never had that problem.
Probably see the nurse practitioner at your surgery on Monday if you're still worried.

Yes, very likely to be the propranolol. 80mg is a large dose if it’s not being used to control high blood pressure.

If I recall correctly propranolol was originally designed as a drug to lower blood pressure. Before my dosage was halved I fainted due to low blood pressure.

Yes if it's not taken because of high blood pressure then that dosage is too high in a person with normal bp.
