dd (3.1) doesn't look too well at all

Temp won't stay down despite maximum doses of both infant brufen and paracetemol - currently 38.5

Horrid hacking chesty cough

No appetite

Hard work to get her to drink anything

Should I be ringing the docs or am I getting worried uneccesarily?

The temps the alarm bell for me. Ds had NO symptoms and I literally mean NO symptoms except for a temp that couldn't be brought down with calpol and neurofen, when we took him to hosp. he had pneumonia and had to stay overnight in hosp to have IV antibiotics (which he responded to instantly and was so much better within 24 hours it was amazing!) I'm sure we're all scaring you for nothing and it will just be a nasty virus though. Hope she feels better soon

Not nice for you Dumble but IME (and I am medical though not giving professional advice her if you are worried call your doc)...temps in LOs is far from unusual and a serious underlying cause is the exception rather than the rule ..

She's awake again but her temp is now normal , probably still being controlled by brufen/paracetemol but that's OK, I'm happier now they are doing their job. I've been staggering the doses all day, perhaps I just needed to give them a chance to work.

Am working out doses now... will check back in when done!

Glad she is better! Macdoodle - oh I know temps are very common with LO's (I have two dc) but it was temps that can't be controlled by calpol and neurofen combined that worried me - obviously all well in this case though!

for your little one Dances, glad the IV AB's did their job so quickly (sorry didn't read your post properly in my fluster last night)

She is loads better today, still a bit warm and very coughy, a trip to the docs resulted in a diagnosis of lower respiratory tract infection and a px for some AB's

I am just hoping she will sleep tonight, she has hacked all though the last two nights and dh is away on business atm so I am knackered
