MRI and CT scans

Hi
DS has a head and spine MRI for a suspected tumour around 12 days ago and was sent a follow up appointment for the 18th of December (this was sent before the MRI). Yesterday we received a letter saying that the follow up appointment with the neurologist was bought forward to the 4th of December and we put it down to somebody else cancelling and good admin from the hospital. Now we’ve received a third letter for a CT scan of the head set for the 9th of December and I’m not sure why. Nobody has called us and the change in the date for the follow up is making me think that something was found in the MRI and a CT is needed (assuming neuro will explain this to us at the follow up). Am I correct to be concerned or is this routine (neuro never mentioned a CT during first consultation).
Thanks

In my case I had a CT first and a MRI after as the MRI is more accurate. My DH had various appointments and scans for a kidney lump, they were never explained and seemed to contradict one another. Possibly rearrangements due to cancellations or other reasons. Hope all turn out fine.

So sorry to hear about your DS.

Not an expert, hopefully someone who is will come along. I had a CT scan in hospital of head in A&E, it was clear but still concerned about a tumour so they ordered head MRI as more detailed. It wasn't clear but there wasn't a tumour. Now having spine MRI.

Appointments have all kinds of things going on. I had a letter making an appointment in october from doctors, then a letter from hospital confirming that appointment and another one cancelling it arrived on same date Confused phoned and they said yes it is going ahead. Couple of weeks later got another letter cancelling it and making appointment for November. I have also had to cancel an appointment in the past for something else so the appointment changing wouldn't assume anything.

Another scan after an MRI my guess would be either they've made an error or they've picked up a problem on MRI. I hope it's not a problem but if it is it's better its picked up and treated. The doctors are amazing at treating problems but hopefully it won't come to that.

In my case when there were issues the hospital phoned me - I think that is what is supposed to happen though I had to chase to get this and they said you're on the list of people who should have been phoned by now. Hope you can get an answer soon. I'ld try again and say you are really worried though at least there's an appointment in for 4th.
