Uncomfortable, bloated stomach for 4 months now

It's really getting me down now. I have almost constant discomfort...like I've eaten way too much sort of feeling. My stomach feels like it's sticking out miles; it is bloated tho to be fair it's not as 'fat' as it feels! It isn't related to what I'm eating so far as I can tell from keeping an eye...I have no history of IBS or food intolerances, and the coeliac test was negative too.

I've had loads of blood tests including the cancer one, all came back fine apart from being a bit anaemic (now taking supplements.) I paid for an abdominal scan myself given GP wasn't hugely interested once the cancer test was through ok....all clear, and sonographer checked pancreas, kidneys, liver, ovaries etc etc

So Im not sure what to do next?? I'm so uncomfortable I hate anything touching my belly - I have to leave trousers unzipped with a long top, leggings I wear low under my tummy and so on.

This isn't a normal feeling...yet tests show nothing. Can anyone suggest an avenue worth investigating?

(I am 54 and have been on HRT for 2.5 years and love it...nothing has changed there.)

I felt this way when I had IBS triggered by a bad case if food poisoning (cryptosporidium). Ibs lasted a few years sadly.

More recently I had this while waiting to have my gallbladder out. The bloating was small intestinal bacterial overgrowth secondary to my untreated gallstones - diagnosis by breath test and successfully treated with 2 weeks of antibiotics.

Fyi my gallstones didn't show up on ultrasound, or MRCP, or hida scan, or MRI with dye, only found when I finally had endoscopic ultrasound. Good luck

What does your daily diet and exercise look like?

Anon3697 · 24/11/2019 14:32

I eat fairly well, not much fruit but love veg, dont eat meat but do eat fish. Do enjoy the odd biscuit...and a bit too much wine if Im honest.

Walk most days with dog and have a stand up, active part time job. Could probably do with a bit more structured exercise tbh but vould be worse.
