Swollen gland groin?

SadForNoReason · 23/11/2019 22:16

My glands in my groin (both sides) have been swollen (well, I can feel them and I'm not thin, so i think that means they're swollen! But they r not huge) for 6 months.

Any idea what this means?

I have been visiting the GP alot due to severe headaches and nausea, and every time I go they never have enough time left for me to ask about the glands, or I forget, or they rush me out the door.

I'm making an appointment specifically to ask about the glands next week, but I'm worried it's a silly thing to go to the GP about? Will they think I'm being neurotic? Would you go to the GP with swollen groin glands?

They've been there for 6 months? Sounds worth checking out. They don't come up anything like as often as neck ones.

Thanks noco - what might it be? Will the doctor just say 'oh it's probably a virus' (its just that the doctor hasn't been taking my hellish migraines seriously and I think she thinks I'm over anxious and so I'm scared to go)

I'm afraid I'm more familiar with children...in a child by 6 months I'd (after a proper history/examination) be doing some baseline bloods, probably including viral studies to see if they've had glandular fever or similar recently to explain it. If I were worried I might request an ultrasound scan of the glands to make sure they just look like the usual reactive nodes.

Thanks noco, I'll go to the appointment, might see a different doc to my usual as I'm just so worried it's a silly thing to go about and I'm embarrassed!

I have exactly the same. I am going to the doctor tomorrow so will report back. I can't feel mine, they just ache.

I was at the doctor at earlier this year with swollen lymph nodes in my groin but mine were just on the right side.
She felt them and told me to come back in two months but she wasn't worried as they were movable.
Went back two months later she felt them as they were still there and said she was happy with them.
Seven months later they are still up, I was at the hospital recently for something else and mentioned the swollen nodes and they weren't worried either so I have to trust them that they are and maybe the nodes will stay up .
Don't worry might just be like mine nothing to worry about fingers crossed
