Brown patches behind eye

So I've been getting blurry vision on and off for a week and I went to the optician today and she said she could see a brown patch at the back of my right eye and will need to see an eye doctor. Has anyone else had this? I'm panicking so much about it.

Some hospitals have an eye a&e maybe get down there, it’s not clear from your post when or how the optician would expect you to see a specialist. Look online for your nearby unit?

Amy - the Optometrist would have sent your directly to A&E if they thought it was very urgent.

Ophthalmology is very specialised these days and she will refer you to the correct clinic and correct ophthalmologist to identify that the "brown patch" is.

Unfortunately, I can't even begin to guess what the "brown patch" may be , it could be one of about 30 things I can think of. If you call the practice though, she'd be more than happy to discuss it with you, it may be that she's not sure either!
We don't like patients being worried.
