and the thought of it is making me feel sick. She's going to howl the place down I can just feel it. Why is it when they are babies the jabs don't seem so bad? Is it because she keeps asking me whether it's going to hurt? I tell her , 'well just a bit but you'll get two circle plasters' - dd1 is telling her 'yes of course it hurts when the nurse sticks a big neeedle in your arm - twice'

wish me luck

oh no - I have this to look 4ward to next year and have been thinking about all holidays as will have it this time next year and will be in the same position as you. I can't tell our daughter as she will go hysterical so I will have to white lie and get her to turn away (ie look here's some chocolate!!!) and hopefully it will be ok!!!!
Nothing is easy - someone told me everything get's harder as they get older and how right they are!!
Maybe you could distract her by saying dangling her favourite sweets/raisins/chocolate/fruit in front of her gettng her to turn away??? Not sure, kids are really too clever for this though I think!! Let us know how you get on
Good luck ... xx

Make sure you are ready, hold her very still, and talk to her the whole time about what you will do afterwards. Good luck. Ours is next week.

Lucycat · 20/08/2007 20:08

She was an absolute star! she didn't even seem to feel either of them. No tears and two circle plasters of which she is very proud. The chocolate buttons did help I guess!

btw if you go after the 10th Sept then they going to include the Hib vaccine in with the MMR, as it is my dd will have to go back and have another injection!

I hope everone elses little ones have a smooth a ride as us.
