Shingles? Or something else?

Help me figure out what’s wrong with me.

Last Wednesday I popped into the pharmacy with an eye infection. As I’m breastfeeding I was advised to see my GP.

Somehow got a same day phone consult and started a prescription of eye ointment that evening.

Saturday, my eye was worse - swollen shut, weeping, with a patch of rash/blistering under the eye. Ended up in out of hours where a doctor confirmed conjunctivitis and told me to administer the drops more frequently.

Today, my eye was better than Saturday but worse than Sunday. Meanwhile the rash/blistering had spread down my face and then across it. Phoned the GP, another phone consult and asked to come in to confirm shingles. Went in, a different doctor confirmed the shingles, prescribed antivirals and sent me off to the eye clinic.

Eye clinic are absolutely convinced it’s not shingles as the rash/blisters have spread to both sides of the face. Prescription of drops and antibiotics issued.

Meanwhile my face is in agony - the way I imagine an acid burn to feel. Google thinks it could still be shingles as bilateral shingles does happen, just rarely. I’m utterly shattered, in pain and just want a damn diagnosis so I can get well. What the hell is wrong with me?
