Abscess gone hard - how to get rid!

I had a tiny little lump on my chest from an abscess years ago. It got infected and became an abscess again. I've been putting hot compresses on too try to drain it but instead the pains gone and it's turned hard. It's about an inch and I don't want this on my chest waiting to blow up into an abscess again! My doctor's used to do minor surgeries like this but now you have to go to the doctors for a referral to hospital to see a consultant, meet with consultant, have a pre-op and then an op. Anyone have tips on how to be rid of it to avoid this faff. It looks really prominent on my chest!

Also would having it removed at hospital leave a big hole in my chest or would it be better than a burst abscess.

Hate abscesses ☹️

Maybe try posting this in sporners corner. They might be able to help!

No advice, but hope you find a solution!

Maybe draw a smily face on it in the meantime? Grin

I would say heat but you’ve done that.

Mag sulph?

Anotherthink · 18/11/2019 00:20

Mag sulphate is a good call. And a big fat plaster! There is some weak skin there where i was expecting it to pop but it's a bit deflated now the infection has gone. I tried stabbing it but chickened out, tried squeezing it with tweezers but that just scratched it a bit.

All failing that I shall do a smiley face on it and head to sporners corner Grin
