Lung Function Test - can anyone explain?

I had a lung function test yesterday. I’m curious about why I felt lousy during the last bit. The last bit involved me breathing in and out, and at one one point some gas was squirted into what I was breathing, the technician said afterwards that it was a mixture of gases including helium. After it had been squirted I began to feel very uncomfortable and hot under the collar, possibly close to passing out. I’m wondering what was going on for me. The technician couldn’t tell me. I have poor circulation and possibly low blood volume. The lung function tests all came out fine.

I used to have those tests (where you're in a glass case and you have to do different breathing things into a tube?). I blacked out once. My lung function test guy said it's fairly common.

Thanks, that’s interesting that it’s common to black out.

Oh yes, makes you feel so weird. I didn't black out but I hated being in that box.
