Blood Test Turnaround Times

Morning all

Apologies if this is a silly question but generally I am used to blood test results coming back within 24 hours. I had them taken last Wednesday and they still haven't come back today? Taken at the same hospital as normal and as far as I am aware their process hasn't changed.
Been tested for general wellbeing, exhaustion and bone pain, so FBC, Thyroid, Vitamin D etc (i know there were 8 things being requested for). So just wondering really how long they roughly take.

TIA x

If I have bloods at the gp I have to wait 7 days for results

@SpideyMom I'm in the same boat, same tests, it's been over a week now for me - keep getting told the GP has them on her desk!

SpideyMom · 11/11/2019 11:59

thanks guys

@Mumma1984 well at least the GP has them. Isn't it annoying when they take ages. I have spent years now feeling pretty horrendous. Most of the time my exhaustion has me in tears. I suffer alot with bone pain and recently it has starting in my hips too. It really sets off my anxiety. Especially when the doctor only wants to treat with pain medication. I get scared that something is underlying :-( hopefully we will both get our results soon

@SpideyMom oh I know your pain, I fear MS and have random symptoms you could chalk up to MS bit the doc says anxiety, I had a brain scan when the worst symptoms started 7 years ago and it was clear but I still worry - my symptoms have improved but I feel strange to accept it's anxiety and can't stop the fear!

SpideyMom · 11/11/2019 12:43

@Mumma1984 last week the doctor made me feel like it was all in my head. He kept saying there isn't always a physical reason for the way you feel. Which obviously made me ask 'so are you saying its all in my head'.
He told me that anxiety has these effects on the body. Like you I am reluctant to blame my anxiety, though i do feel a peak in symptoms whenever I feel particularly anxious. But I have felt awful now for years. The exhaustion is chronic :-(

@SpideyMom yeh I get you, I called the doc again and they said she still hasn't commented on them so I asked them to nudge her!
