Anyone else here suffer?

I've been having a bad couple of months and could just do with a bit of sympathy / chat / advice

I've tried being off the painkillers for the last 4 days but feeling a bit miserable now! Went off the painkillers as the codeine side effects seem to be making everything worse! (This is new, been taking codeine for years, but don't usually take as much as I have been for the last couple of months.)

My pain starts in the womb/guts then the muscles in my abdomen all seem to cramp then my lower back then my hips then my thighs...anyone else get that? I've just done a bit of yoga and I'll be on the sofa with a couple of hot water bottles.

I’ve had this for years - mine is thought to be partly endometriosis/adhesions and partly my bladder . Pain clinic said due to ongoing severe pain the muscles have gone into spasm around pelvic floor and pelvis , and led to some sort of nerve dysfunction wherein any stimuli is now very sore .

I’ve had an op on my bladder and hopefully going for physio as well , I’ve also trialled gabapentin (useless) and nortriptiyline (made it worse) . Best thing I’ve found is trying deliberately to hold my pelvis very loose, and to consciously relax pelvic floor if that makes sense .

I was on high doses of dihydrocodeine and codeine for a few years but GP was concerned I was becoming dependant so I’m now on a teeny low dose to see how that goes !

Thanks for replying @naericht

I've got adenomeiosis which is a bit like endometriosis. I have bladder and bowel problems too but it's probably all caused by the adeno.

I've got a referral to the pain clinic and I'm hoping for physio too. I know what you mean about the pelvic floor - I only realised recently that I was doing it. I had gabapentin and amitriptyline years ago, didn't do much, but coming off them was hell. I don't think I slept for a month! I'm very reluctant to make more drugs as a result.

How is the low dose going?
