Haemorrhoids Question

Hi Guys,

I’m wondering if I might have haemorrhoids but is it possible to have the same ones for two and a half years (no treatment)?

Ever since my daughter was born, my bottom has been sore and when I poo, there is a lump sticking out. The pain isn’t unbearable, just uncomfortable. After I go to the toilet, my bum feels quite bruised. I’ve always just accepted it as my new normal post birth, I had forceps & I’ve never exactly felt the same down there in general! But it’s been consistently the same sized lump & same level of pain for 2.5 years.

I’m pregnant again & the pain is now getting much worse. I find it hard to sit down after a trip to the loo! I managed to take a photo today (oh the glamour) and the lump is very lumpy & purple.. Confused

I don’t want to waste the doctors time, is there anything I can do to try help?! I debated if it was a minor prolapse but the symptoms seem to fit more with haemorrhoids!

Thank you!

Could well be a prolapsing haemorrhoid, if it appears when you bear down during a bowel movement, and disappears the rest of the time.

Go and see your GP and double check. You can get them banded, but they may not do this while you're pregnant, as it will require laxatives for a clear view of your colon.

Go to the doctor. It's worth it. I was in agony with mine after I had DC1. I'm glad I did before it got worse - although it was like passing glass every time, but I hear that it becomes unbearable the longer you leave them.
