I'm a 36 year old mum of 2 (3 year old and young baby). 3 year old disturbs me every night and is an early riser, baby doesn't do too badly considering their age.
I'm so used to disturbed sleep that I now don't sleep well at all. I have no problem going to sleep but have difficulty staying asleep and getting back to sleep.
I can be woken by either of the children any time during the night and once I've had to get out of bed to settle them I rarely get back to sleep.
My day started at 2.30am on Friday after the baby woke, who disturbed my 3 year old. I lay in bed trying to get back to sleep once they were both settled but by 5.10am I'm still awake with tears silently rolling down my cheeks as I had to be up at 6 for work.
Last night I took nytol herbal 1 a night. Was asleep by 8.30, was disturbed at 1.30. Struggled to get back to sleep but did eventually and started the day at 5.15.
How do I get out of this cycle? I end up blaming the children for my tiredness but they're only doing what children do and are generally straight back to sleep.
Any advice is appreciated
