Iritis? Anyone?

I got scratched in the eye by my dog last Friday and had a corneal abrasion, then was diagnosed with a mild case of Iritis yesterday and given steroid drops, I just want to know how long the blurred vision lasts with iritis?

Has anyone else had experience with this? My right eye is still completely and totally blurred even though my eye itself looks like its gone back to normal... consultant said to come back in 4 weeks if no improvement but I meant to ask him how long he would expect this blurryness to last... any experiences out there?

My husband is off on a 3 month work trip next Monday and I can't drive or work right now until this vision returns... I'm guessing it will come back?! Freaking out a little bit...

I get iritis (really known as Uveitis) about 3 times a year and I’m on yet another course of steroid drops at the moment. I get a lot of pain and photophobia but not really any blurred vision. I suspect your blurring might be more to do with either the corneal abrasion or the other drops which dilate your pupil and reduce the pressure , did they give you two different prescriptions?

Poor you, that's no fun. I had it once some years ago but from what I remember the blurriness lasted a few days, less than a week. The sensitivity to light did take longer to get over though.

The doc said the abrasion has healed nicely so unlikely to be causing blurred vision at this stage, only been given steroid drops not the dilating ones so I don’t think it’s the meds. Baffled... I just hope it comes back soon

I've also had iritis numerous times and, like the previous poster, haven't had blurred vision. Quite acute pain and sensitivity to light, but not blurred vision. Could you go to your optician and see what is going on?

Just been diagnosed today with uveitis, I have a chronic immune disease, I also have no blurred vision. Pain, headache, light sensitive and blood shot. I agree with pp might be worth a check up. Hope all is ok.

Oh that’s strange, I could try the opticians but I don’t know what else they can say or do, day before yesterday I went to a good hospital eye clinic and had a full retinal scan and consultant looked in my eye for ages, I’m guessing that’s about as thorough as it gets? It’s been 6 days since the scratch happened now. Not sure whether to give it another week and hope things go back to normal? Consultant didn’t seem overly worried... don’t know if it’s anything else it could be that wouldn’t have been picked up? 🤔

Any optometrists out there for advise? X
