Incisional Hernia and having another baby - experiences?

Hi all,

So I'm 3.5 years post c-section and have just been diagnosed with a suspected incisional hernia. What fun. Had a CT scan last week to confirm it, and have a follow-up scheduled this Saturday, but in the meantime I've been feeling so anxious and upset about it.

I've got one child and ideally, we'd like to have another - but I'm now worried that this hernia is going to make it all a lot more complicated. Either I don't get it repaired and wait... in which case how do I handle pregnancy with a hernia that might get worse... or I get it repaired and end up with MORE scar tissue and potentially more issues / risk of recurrence anyway?

Has anyone ever had another baby after an incisional hernia (repaired or otherwise)? Any experiences you can share with me?

Thanks all x

@shojam13 did you get pregnant?
I'm having a similar dilemma and looking for advice.

@Angie887 So in the end the CT scan showed it wasn't a hernia, and they suspected endometriosis instead. I decided to go for surgery and had the nodule removed and it was confirmed to be incisional endometriosis along my c section scar.

I had it removed in November last year. Am TTC now, but no luck yet...!

Hope you're doing ok x

@ @shojam13 Omg what a situation. I'm glad you got it sorted. What was your symptoms?

I had a small lump and stinging pain on my left hand side above/near the end of my c-section scar. I did notice it used to twinge / be more painful during my period (which is why they suspected endometriosis in the end). Is that what you have?

@shojam13 soon after I had my c section I could feel a lump on the side of my scar but that never hurt so I thought it was normal. Few years later I had a tummy tuck and the lump dissapered. 15 years later since my last c section I can feel the lump again but it's larger and constantly aching. It hurts more after doing physical activities. I'm have been ttc for 6 months and no luck yet. So I'm starting to wonder if this has anything to do. I'll try to see my GP this week.
Thanks for your information.
