Breast tests!

Hi all
So i went for my breast cyst to be drained on friday ive had this cyst for years and had it drained twice before didnt think i would be there long. Went into room had scan before i knew it had to have 4 mammograms 3 scans 9 biopsies and 2 clip markers put into place as they have found 2 areas of suspicion on my right breast and 1 area on left breast.
They told me to come back tuesday for all results then week after plan will be put in place.
Any advice?

That would have been a shock for you right enough. But they are certainly doing the right thing and being as thorough and quick as they can, which is helpful and the way the nhs should be. Fingers crossed for Tuesday.

Definitely don't google!! Waiting for test results is the worst as your brain goes into overdrive. It is good they are being thorough. Have you got real life support to go to the appointment with you?

Hi yes my mum came with me to this last app on friday as i thought it was just the cyst being drained so my husband will be coming on tuesday with me for the results. My mind is doing overtime ive been having tests for extreme tiredness but everything was coming back fine. Now this im so scared.

That's good that you have support. I know it's easier said than done but maybe make a list of questions for Tuesday and then try to occupy your mind with something/anything else til then.

I have been through it and I'm happy for you to dm me if you want to chat.

They are very very very careful.
This scares the bejeesus out of you & means that 99% of the extra tests they do are completely unnecessary.
It's just how modern life works.
They are trying to find the 1%.

Dunno about you, but I never seem to be that unusual to be 1%.

Nobody will know bar the doctor who looks at the results. And even he may not be sure. The waiting is awful I know OP. Stay strong and you will soon know one way or the other. Cream cakes at your house if alls good

Its driving me insane. Tuesday comes im getting drunk regardless if the news is good or bad :)

Hi im ok. Sent consultant today i have 2 benign growths and a pre cancerous growth so need an op asap meeting surgeons on monday booking operation date and having some more tests before and after surgery.

That's great that they have caught them before they turn nasty. You must be relieved to know what it is and that they have a plan. Are you having a drink?

You dont have to answer this but are you having lumpectomy or mastectomy? If you want to talk through mastectomies I can help.

Im not sure they said they having a mdt meeting this week about me and going to tell me on monday what surgery i will be having. N no saving myself for weekend for that.

Thank god they caught the pre cancerous one on time, that’s great. Nobody wants an operation but it will be such a relief I’m sure to know the bad bits gone and you can get on with your life. Glad the other two are benign.

Its so scary dont think its hit me properly yet. Ill find out more monday. Thankyou.
