Double mastectomy recovery?

Hello,

Just wondering if anyone could share their experience of a double mastectomy recovery. Mine will be preventative/risk-reducing and I will have a toddler at home, I'm worried about how I'm going to cope/when I'll be able to lift him again etc. Straight to implant nipple sparing.

Thanks!

Hi. I didn't have mx but I understand that they have drains and I think you will be out of action for a couple of weeks and certainly not lifting a toddler. I couldn't have lifted anything much after my lumpectomy and it took three weeks after my first op to go back to work and I was shattered! I think the reconstruction is major op, more than the mx.
