Fatigue, especially during periods

I'm a busy person sometimes with a hectic schedule. Every day is different. I have a lot of stress in my life too.

I get tired easily. I always have. I'm just that kind of a person. Even when I was younger, I used to nap a lot.

Every day is different. I usually go to bed before 11 and I have no distractions and I'm up early. Even after a good night's sleep, I feel tired in the morning, and a lot of days I just battle on. A lot of days, I feel hungover. I seem to come to life when I finish my days work and get home in the evening but then other evenings I'm just shattered.

Anyways. The first day of my period was on Saturday. On Sunday. I was absolutely drained of all energy. I was wrecked tired. I felt hungover. I wanted to go to bed but I just battled on. This isn't the first period where I was exhausted. My flow is usually approx 5 days long, not very heavy except for the first two days.

I got bloods taken at the doctors about 2 years ago which shows low iron. I never kept on top of taking the iron. I took it for a few weeks. I'm a great one for buying vitamins and minerals but when it comes to taking them, it's seems to be every second day or so.

I don't know of this is normal tiredness or fatigue. I had so much to do yesterday but I was so tired. So so so tired. I stayed up but it was a slow day.

I've just started taking Vitamin B6 and it's worked an absolute treat, no PMT this month and feel really energetic!

See your GP. I mentioned similar when I had a checkup for something else. I had very low vitamin D and low iron.

Take the supplements! It took 2 weeks for the iron to work for me:

Can you go back and get retested to see what your iron is now? If you have low iron, you really have to stick with it every day for 4-6 weeks - something like Ferrous Fumurate is easy on the stomach - as they body has to replenish its stores. Also get your thyroid checked.

I take Feroglobin Plus and Spatone. It is actually really hard to get enough iron in your diet.

I recommend downloading a nutrition app like Cronometer. It was an eye opener for me as I could see I was lacking in iron and B vitamins.
