Red marks in armpits

Six week ago I started to notice red marks in my armpits, almost like stretch marks. They are not raised, itchy or painful. They started in one armpit and now are in both and look unsightly.

My mum died of breast cancer a few months ago and I am worried they might be something to do with lymph glands. I have not put on or lost weight recently. I have stopped shaving, thinking it might be shaving rash, but they have got worse not better.

Any ideas?

Too tight clothing?
I had breast pain for months just when I decided I must see a doc I suddenly realised I'd put nearly a stone on in the last 3 years and was still wearing the same bras. Big uplifting ones. I'd also had a lump removed from one breast so only the other was painful, which also threw me off the scent.
All this just to say check out the obvious first but I would go to a doc and let them see it.
