Everything is different after birth

Hi all, it's a bit of a private problem but since giving birth to my DD in July even going to the toilet is hard work. I was induced, I had an epidural after 12 hours of labour, which meant I had a catheter fitted. I was cut and had stitches inside and out. My urethra hurts when my bladder is full and going for a number 2 is extremely painful. Does anyone else have a similar experience and what did you do to help it? Tia

I don't have children, but this sounds tough to cope with :/ I'm mostly replying to bump your message - but it sounds like you need to see your GP and make sure you get a referral to someone knowledgeable about these things. Take care.

Hi this isn't normal for 3 months post birth. Like pp said see your GP and they will be able to refer you for some help.

Firstly, congratulations 😊 I also gave birth in July and had a traumatic birth. I had a catheter fitted for most of the labour but ended up having an emergency c-section which didnt go to well.
I haven't experienced any of the problems you describe. I've had 4 babies now, epidurals and catheters etc with all and never had any problems after the initial recovery from the births. It definitely isnt normal and you should see your gp, maybe ask for a referral to gynecology.
I had a horrible recovery, even now my wound is still bursting open in places so I know how down it all can make you feel. I really hope you get to the bottom of what is causing your pain Flowers
