Hi I’m just wondering if anyone can shed some light on this issue? I have had a pain in my upper right abdomen all day iv had it before last year and gallstones where ruled out and after having it for weeks it went by itself! I dread the thoughts of it again I couldn’t cope with it for that length again the last few days I have it and went to the doctor today who put me on omperzole tablets but it’s not easing it took nurofen that didn’t either really it’s like theirs of wind in their the pain stays and doesn’t go I’d say at a level it’s a six doc doesn’t seem bothered but she’s not the one in constant pain. Any help welcome

Could it be something as daft as trapped wind? That can be excruciating pain. Have you been tested for h. pylori?

In my experience omeprazole takes a while to work, I had a gastroscopy done a few weeks back your sort of symptoms and was diagnosed with duodenitis.

Ulcer maybe? Perhaps ask your gp to do a Stool test .

If you are having upper gastric pain then you really shouldn't be taking ibuprofen it can damage the stomach lining and cause ulcers and gastritis, you can take paracetamol. Omeprazole can take a while to work, in the meantime try to eat plain bland food and sip warm drink such as herbal tea to relieve any cramping. If it persists then go back to your GP for a referral for endoscopy.
