Chronic Migraine..anybody else?

Long story short. I started with chronic migraines about 5 years ago. I've had better and worse days but broadly I havent had a symptom free day since and often have awful migraines that last weeks. The longest lasted for 6 months.

I've basically tried all the preventatives and they either dont work or I cant tolerate them. At the moment am on botox, gabapentin and naproxen also have a cefaly and am going to start occipital nerve blocks in a month. I am just so fed up..I can have a few better days or even weeks where my symptoms are a bit more manageable but then I'm back to square one. I am at the end of my tether. My whole life is on hold, I try to just get on with things but quite often just cant function, I can often cope with the pain on some level but the dizziness, fatigue and other horrible symptoms are awful.
I'm just wondering if anyone has been in my situation and got better or if not anyone want to join me for a whinge? I'm not expecting miracles at this point but just a better level of functioning.

Have you had acupuncture? Come off any hormonal contraceptives immediately.

I went to the national migraine centre in London for a one off private appointment. They gave me a protocol which has meant I've been almost migraine free since then.
Worth a try if you can possibly go there, I'd suggest.

I suffer from migraines but with aura which are so debilitating. I was having about two a week up until 4 months ago, when I started taking aspirin once day and I havent had one since. I know this has its own risks but for me its worth it

Thanks Flowers snd sorry to other people suffering!
I had acupuncture a few years ago although not more recently, so could try again. No contraception here so it's not that.

Went to NCNN at queens square a couple of weeks ago..was referred there by my neurologist who was stuck with me, they seem good and v knowledgeable and have access to as many treatments as possible (although some of them like amivog are not available unless you pay privately unfortunately)

Aspirin I could try! I do have some that I take intermittently, but maybe I could try taking daily..will mention to my gp..thanks :)
