I had numbing injections for the first time today for a filling and stupidly (please don't be nasty to me I know I've made a mistake) I ate something afterwards and have chewed the inside of my cheek to smithereens because it was numb and swollen I didn't realise I was biting at it when I chewed my food. My dentist didn't give me any advice or aftercare information but obviously I know now that I did a stupid thing so please don't comment just to say this as I am well aware!!

My question is, is there anything I can do or put on the inside of my cheek to help it heal? It's so so painful.

Thank you

No just time and salt water mouthrinses

I'm afraid you may well get mouth ulcers.

Id get some numbing gel like bongela and stick it on all over the chewed bit. When you go to bed make sure you clean your teeth well so your mouth is as clean as possible. Finish with a rinse of hot salty water. Neat vodka works well too (both as an anaesthetic and a mouth wash :) ).

I had surgery on my mouth which means I tend to badly bite the inside of my bottom lip regularly so I sympathise with the war wounds. Fortunately mouths tend to heal pretty well.

Thank you. It's just so painful. The inside of my cheek is an absolute mess. It's all chewed up and horrible Sad
