DS, 9 months, suddenly gone hoarse - any idea what's wrong or if it might turn serious

9 mo babe has, in the last couple of hours, become really hoarse. he seems fine in every other way and isn't dehydrated. anyone had this happen? do i need to watch out for anything?

TIA for any thoughts

Ds did this, think he just had a cold and was fine after about a week. Then I went very hoarse so it was obviously contagious! If his breathing sounds raspy or wheezy though I would take him to GP.
