Lump removal - what’s it called?

I had a small lump removed from the top of my neck yesterday. Doc said it was most likely a mole which was nothing to worry about but it could be a something ulcer. I can’t remember what it was called but think it began with a p. Does anyone know what that could be? He said it would require further treatment but nothing to worry about and very common.

Rodent ulcer?

Dontsayyouloveme · 12/10/2019 11:52

Are you sure it started with a p? A rodent ulcer is otherwise known as basal cell carcinoma which it 100% harmless.

Mmmm, think it was a p but not 100% sure! Defo not rodent.

Not 100%. BCC can metastasize. Rarely, but it can happen.

Pilomatricoma? My daughter had one on her neck, it’s harmless, caused by a problem with hair follicles, she had it removed.

Pilar cyst?

Pilomatricoma sounds like it could be the one, particularly as it’s in my hairline. Thank you everyone!
