Flu jab illness

I had the flu jab last week - have it each year as ds is disabled.
The following day I started with a sinus infection and sore throat. Since then I've had fever and chills, aches and pains, chest pain and cough - I'm now coughing up green phlegm (sorry to be gross.) Also completely lost my appetite and my voice has reduced to a whisper.

I know the flu jab isn't live but has anyone had similar? I've always been fine before! DH now is refusing to get his after seeing the state I'm in.

Any chance it's just a coincidence? You might have already been incubating a virus when you had the jab. Green phlegm sounds like an infection of some sort, which wouldn't be a side effect of the flu jab.

You would have already been brewing your bug I'm afraid and it will be unrelated to the jab

Hope u feel better soon

I had this 2 years ago the day after the flu jab. I think it was coincidence. Had the flu jab again last year (dd was immunocompromised) and last week (pregnancy) and felt fine.

There's a bug going round. I've had exactly the same and not had my flu jab yet, lost my voice last week and now got a hacking cough and sore throat

It's so annoying, feel completely washed out. I never get colds or anything and this has knocked me for 6. Hopefully I'm over it soon.

Ds thinks its hilarious that I've lost my voice. He offered to help me look for it this morning, bless him 😂

This happens to DD and me every time we have the flu jab. The practical sensible me knows it's a coincidence but I really don't want one this year.
