Calprotectin levels rising

Does anyone know what rising levels might indicate.

We have a family history of crohns and I have been experiencing so unpleasant bowel issues.

Levels were 68 Sept
Now 212 Oct

Doing another test in a month before GP will make a decision to refer me

Hi how did you get on my levels are 157 x

Up to 200 are complete normal. I have UC and have had 5000+ readings in the past.

@saltyairandsandyskin oh really just that I had stool test come back at 157 been having bloody mucous urgency to go then constipated cramps doctor sending me for a colonoscopy as he’s checked for infections and nothing so need to rule other things out I’m just worried what it can be tbh x

Ah Lou1897 I know alot about IBD as a nurse and my DH was diagnosed with it 10 years ago. My DH was exactly as you describe. I hope you get quick diagnosis if that is what it is. It is so horrible initially.

Once my DH started treatment he did improve, slowly, but some of the worst symptoms disappeared.

I hope you are looking after yourself it might be worth looking at a low residue diet and dioralyte. Rest if you can also. Take care.

@Battlecat98 I just over think and get worried I heard calprotectin test can detect cancer and now I’m shay worrying not sure if that’s true though just what you read online 🤦🏻‍♀️
