I was told it's likely I have IBS last year and I thought I knew how to control it.... C
I ate good meals and avoided certain foods that made me feel worse ... However it only worked a little .

I've been suffering with nausea non stop for the past 2 months, it doesn't stop me eating , in fact I have an intense hunger on some occasions and im so tired I haven't slept well for 2 months I've also struggled to do housework and I'm finding myself going back to bed while kids are at school I have no energy

Alcohol makes me worse , one drink will leave me feeling very nauseated.

I had a couple of drinks tonight with dinner as it's a special occasion and now
Its 3am and I've not been able to drift off because I'm feeling very very sick , Ive made the decision I will no longer have any alcohol again in my life due to the horrendous upset tummy I have ..... Most people would say oh I'm hung over and I'd think so myself but I felt like this long before any drink touched
My Lips.
Ive considered calling 111 for advice but I feel like i would be wasting time

I'm going to make a doctor's appointment as this can't go on , I don't think I have IBS , I'm not preggo either .

Any advice ?

I have ibs supposedly and have all those symptoms and many more. I'm only awake now as I woke up feeling sick and now can't sleep. I've never been convinced it's IBS either but I've had basically every test going and found nothing. All I can't suggest is back to the GP and ask for tests.

With food, you may find that there are more triggers than you've managed to identify at the moment. I get the intense hunger and need bread or others carbs to satisfy it, but those things don't agree with me so ultimately I feel worse.

From what you've said I wonder maybe if you've got something like gastritis

Aquamarine1029 · 06/10/2019 03:43

I think you should have your gallbladder looked at, and not just for stones, but for functionality.

Catscat · 06/10/2019 04:02

It's funny you said bread because when it's around 10pm ( not long before I go to bed )
I feel really hungry and I find myself eating bread .

That's annoying after all those test they havent found anything .... I've had lots of tests and same here .

Is there a chance you could be pregnant? The symptoms you speak about are exactly like my morning sickness was, feel sick, then starving hungry, eat something, then start being sick.

Tatiannatomasina · 06/10/2019 04:24

Diabetic?

betternamepending · 06/10/2019 05:06

Could be diabetes woth the shakong and cravings

FrenchyQ · 06/10/2019 05:11

I felt the same a few weeks ago, the Dr diagnosed gastritis

Catscat · 06/10/2019 09:37

I have had my period regularly and because I'm not on the pill I always take a test just to put my mind at ease , the nausea does remind me of when I was pregnant haha , it would be a miracle if I was ... I don't want to be one of these women who suddenly has a baby without showing at all x

I've been checked for diabetes on multiple occasions , even had a glucose monitor as I've fainted a few times .

I had similar last year and again but not so bad this year. In the end it was put down to virus as tests came back clear.

Seaweed42 · 06/10/2019 12:34

Have you tried over the counter omeprazole? It sounds like a stomach acid problem you have. It gets worse when the stomach is empty, there can be gnawing pain that feels like hunger. That's why you get it from alcohol and why eating something helps.
I faint too whenever I am nauseous. I get a low blood sugar and feel shaky occasionally if I skip a meal or do unexpected exercise without eating something before hand. The dextrose or lucozade tablets you can buy at the chemist are handy. My symptoms started around peri menopause.

differentnameforthis · 06/10/2019 13:00

Have you considered trying the FODMAP diet? www.monashfodmap.com/

Oldmum55 · 06/10/2019 13:53

Seaweed me too feeling faint when nauseous and low blood sugar if I don't not eat when I'm supposed to or take too much exercise. Tried the omeoprazole but they have an unpleasant drying effect, very dry mouth during no the night .

ChipInTheSugar · 06/10/2019 13:57

A medication called motillium is fab for stopping nausea if your GP is willing to prescribe it for you.

supadupapupascupa · 06/10/2019 20:13

Please get your gallbladder checked. My friend has just been through similar.

flippyflapper · 06/10/2019 21:03

I have exactly the same, its currently gone but i get a couple of days rest bite where im starving eating everything in site then its starts again.
I have had every blood test and stool sample, told IBS its depressing

Catscat · 06/10/2019 22:45

I haven't herd of it but I'll give anything ago while and wait for GP appointment x

Thanks everyone you've been very helpful , hopefully I'll get this sorted , everyone nowadays has IBS and I honestly don't think the label is right for me .
I'll keep you updated if I get a diagnosis x

Have you had a colonoscopy? My mum gets like this, she has diverticulitis

MrsMessi · 06/10/2019 23:50

Do you have any bloating? I do not want to scare monger but please arrange to have ultrasound and general checks for ovarian cancer asap. It is a very silent illness but continuous nausea can be a symptom.

Catscat · 07/10/2019 07:25

I do have bloating , depends on what I eat though .

I had an ultrasound about 6 months ago as had been having other issues. I have a cyst on one

I had these symptoms a few years ago it was horrendous. I ended up having all the tests done cameras up and down: bowel looked like a coeliacs but the blood test came back negative for it. Diagnosed with ibs in the end. Looking back now tho I have my own diagnosis. Anxiety it went away when I got rid of the most stressful thing in my life. Pretty much gone now.

Spam88 · 07/10/2019 07:38

Doesn't sound like IBS to me but I am in no way a medical professional.

Isn't motillium over the counter?

ejk10 · 07/10/2019 07:46

Please ask your GP to consider gallbladder and pancreas issues. I had pretty much the same kind of symptoms for over 18 months and GP couldn't find answer and I ended up with emergency gall bladder removal as it had necrotised and adhered to my liver. I then had pancreatitis 12 months later. I'm fine now - but if the pain you are experiencing is at the top of the stomach in the Centre and radiates to the back it could definitely be gallbladder related.
